On our regional courses, we also hold practical sessions in using lime.
There is a lime slaking demonstration, followed by workshops in using lime for
repointing and plastering.
Because of this practical afternoon we can't quite fit as many lectures in -
those marked ** in the list above are only covered on the London course.

Your Terraced House

Terraced houses are a common sight in our towns and cities, the first mass-produced
dwellings, built to house the expanding population. This one-day course will
offer essential advice and guidance on the key issues affecting these much-loved
buildings and could be the ideal Christmas gift!
Marianne Sühr will be joined by other expert speakers with first-hand experience.
As well as the history and architecture of the terraced house, topics will include:
damp
brickwork
energy efficiency
sash windows
roofs and general maintenance
party walls and extension issues
Each booking includes a copy of the new hardback SPAB publication ‘Old House Handbook’ co-written by Marianne, and details of the Terraced House event in a pack –
